ZINC AND LEAD SCRAP
Zinc, lead and battery scrap
We take lead in many forms — from soft and cable-sheathing lead to batteries. Zinc and ZnAl we buy in smaller but steady quantities.
What we buy in zinc and lead
Zinc and lead are heavy metals with a stable outlet market. Lead comes in many forms — soft, cable-sheathing, in batteries — and each settles differently. Zinc is mainly sheet and ZnAl (a casting alloy).
We serve workshops, installers, vehicle dismantlers and independent scrap yards. We accept lead-acid batteries whole, meeting all safety and formal requirements.
The most common forms of lead and zinc. Not sure what you’re bringing? Send a photo.
Clean and cable-sheathing lead
Clean lead in pieces, lead sheet and lead recovered from cable sheathing — the highest-priced forms of this metal.
Post-consumer lead
Clean, dry lead from dismantling — classified just below cable-sheathing lead.
Lead balance weights
Wheel balance weights and similar counterweights — a separate grade, priced distinctly lower than clean lead.
Remelted lead ingots
Lead remelted in-house, unmarked — accepted with a verified analysis, at a lead content of at least 98% and free of bismuth.
Lead with jute
Cable-sheathing lead with jute, grease or tar residue left on it — the contamination puts it in a lower grade than dry lead.
Lead-acid batteries
Whole automotive and industrial batteries — accepted in line with the requirements; battery plates are classified separately.
Zinc sheet
Zinc sheet, gutters and roofing parts — clean technical zinc, free of steel parts and of any roofing-felt or tar residue.
Hard zinc
Hard zinc from galvanising processes — classified separately from zinc sheet.
ZnAl (zinc alloy)
Zinc alloy (ZnAl / zamak) from pressure die-castings — handles, housings and automotive parts; carburettors and weights are classified separately.
Zinc anodes
Anodes and galvanic zinc — settled by cleanliness.
What's in it for you.
Each form of lead settled separately
Soft, cable-sheathing and battery lead have different values. We settle them separately, so cleaner material never gets lost in a mix.
Batteries, no games
We accept lead-acid batteries whole and in line with the regulations. You get a fair price and the documents appropriate to the delivery.
Steady collection, predictable terms
Even smaller but regular quantities of zinc and ZnAl we can collect on standing terms. You know where you stand with every delivery.
Where to sell your zinc and lead
We buy zinc, lead and batteries at every non-ferrous branch. For larger loads, ask about our own collection.

Quality standards
We accept lead and zinc in a form that allows classification — clean metal, sheet, ZnAl or whole batteries. Heavily contaminated material is priced accordingly lower.
Zinc alloy and admixtures we confirm by spectrometer measurement at the branch, so that ZnAl isn’t priced like pure zinc, or the other way round.
Zinc and lead — frequently asked questions
Do you accept lead-acid batteries, and do they have to be taken apart?
Automotive and industrial batteries are accepted whole — you don’t have to take them apart or drain them. Intake meets all safety and formal requirements, and settlement documents are handed over after delivery.
Which forms of lead are priced highest?
Clean lead — in pieces, as lead sheet and as cable-sheathing lead recovered from cable jackets. Just behind them sits clean, dry post-consumer lead from dismantling. Soft lead with jute or bitumen is classified lower, and lead balance weights are graded separately and distinctly lowest of all. Each form is settled separately, so cleaner material does not get lost in a mix.
Do you price lead balance weights the same as clean lead?
No. Wheel balance weights and similar counterweights are a separate grade, priced distinctly lower than clean lead — the reason is the contamination, coatings and steel clips that have to be separated out. It is therefore worth not mixing weights with clean lead in one load, because the whole delivery would then fall into the lower grade.
What is ZnAl, and do you price it like pure zinc?
ZnAl is a zinc alloy with aluminium from pressure die-castings — handles, housings and automotive parts. It is not priced like pure zinc: the alloy and its admixtures are confirmed by a spectrometer measurement at the branch, precisely so that ZnAl is not settled like technical zinc, or the other way round.
Which forms of zinc do you buy?
Mainly zinc sheet, gutters and roofing parts made of clean technical zinc — accepted free of steel parts. Hard zinc from galvanising processes forms its own grade, and ZnAl from pressure die-castings another. Zinc anodes and galvanic zinc are also bought, settled by cleanliness.
Will you accept contaminated material too?
Lead and zinc are accepted in a form that allows classification — clean metal, sheet, ZnAl or whole batteries. Heavily contaminated material is priced accordingly lower rather than turned away up front; it is worth starting the assessment with a photo.
